Option 1: Living as Universal Awareness
In this state of being, I perceive myself as Awareness—the container and substance of all existence. I feel this to be the case as I am familiar with the feeling that arises when I am aware of the presence of Awareness, which I have opened to recognising as the life-affirming "space" in which everything is happening. (I recognise there is something there no nothing thought words cannot describe it). The objects surrounding me and my own body are merely appearances within this aware reality I am, fostering a profound sense of interconnectedness with everything and everyone. While practical thoughts and enthusiastic ideas still arise, self-limiting thoughts and associated fears dissolve, resulting in a constant feeling of wholeness and self-sufficiency, regardless of external circumstances.
Option 2: Living as a Separate Mind and Body
In this state of being, I identify my consciousness solely with my limited mind and body, perceiving a clear separation between myself and the world around me. I see myself as a person confined within a physical form, subject to the feelings and limitations that come with it. My well-being hinges upon your circumstances, and you strive to maintain a sense of calm amidst the influence of thoughts and emotions. In essence, you serve your thoughts and feelings, rather than them serving you.
