The Real You

The Real you is not defined by;  

how much money or possessions you own, 

having an intimate relationship,

having lots of friends,

the number of likes on social media, 

getting jobs, 

receiving praise, 

having social status, 

having perfect skin or hair or muscles and physical looks, 

not having any problems or challenges, 

only the outcomes of desires at all costs, 

the judgements and criticism of others, 

the physical length of life,

being neurotypical,

being neurodiverse,

being straight,

being gay,

being anything in between,

the conceptualisation of personhood at all,

substances that give pleasure,

being in a particular religion or club or association, tribe,

the media for understanding the state of human life,

the education system for educating you,

ideologies

leaders who tell you of good and evil,

morality that is imposed,

trauma and ill health,

fear and unpleasant emotions,

negative and self-critical thoughts,

ignorance and stupidity,

suffering,

anything at all.

The Real you treasures with all their heart;  

Reminding themselves of their unlimited nature and letting go of limited identifications,

Waking up each day experiencing the potent motivating “juice” of life-affirming qualities coursing through the veins of the mind and body it is occupying 

Bringing love, intelligence and courage into relationships with others,

Listening carefully and learning from other perspectives,

Contributing to society,

The next step in challenging situations,

Its environment, even if it is difficult,

Utilising the natural gifts of the mind and body, it is occupying,

Creating

Sharing

Giving,

Nurturing and sustaining the mind and body it is occupying as its treasured vehicle,

Freedom

Itself

Being compassionate and forgiving to the suffering it experiences in the body and mind it occupies and that of others,

Encouraging others without needing anything back,

Intelligence and wisdom,

Universal love,

Courage,

Universal Beauty,

Community without confinement,

Understanding,

Building things of beauty for the world,

The Natural Environment,

Other living beings,

Exploring,

Mystery,

The enjoyment and passion of working towards a goal rather than the destination itself

The experience that all life is one experiential flow,

Trusting and surrendering to this flow of creation.

Choosing to be the Real you,  

When you awaken each day from whatever dreams and in whatever state you arise,

 You can always inwardly enquire;

Are you going out today based on experiencing yourself as entirely open and unlimited or believing to be limited in some way,

Are you finding that experience within you, of you, that is not limited by the conceptualising mind and bodily sensations,

That is the experience of the aware reality that is aware of, but not limited to, the mind and body it occupies,

That although you cannot see it,

Is nevertheless there,

Constantly, unchanging, limitlessly.

 And, opening to the experience of this aware reality, you come to recognise this is the real you,

You can experience the life-affirming qualities that arise from this recognition,

You can see that the world is happening inside of you, and there is nothing to fear because the world is made from you,

You can see you have the choice to live as if this were the real you,

You can test out the actions of freedom that the real you enthusiastically desire to do,

You can trust and carry out these actions with the enthusiasm, passion and commitment that arise from not being emotionally trapped by outcomes.
