Be The Natural Aliveness You Are
The etymological root of "superstition" is "to stand over," which is the complete opposite of "to stand under," or as we usually express it, "understand."
The greatest example of superstition, or "standing over," is the belief that being a separate personal self makes you safe.
Superstition comes from the head.
The greatest form of understanding is consciously being aware that reality is undefinable, boundless everythingness that is permanently safe and liberated from the fears and psychology of the mind and body.
Understanding is the heart of what we are.
To verify this, we may ask, as if for the first time, "Is awareness present now?" and let the silence answer.
That presence of awareness you are aware of is you.
Your mind cannot know or define this reality you are aware of that is you.
At a certain point, free of mental definition and therefore open, you become the everything you naturally are, and your mind cannot say you are not, and as such, you can at last feel complete and whole as you are.
Nothing is missing, and there is nothing to fear at this moment.
All you are is "this happening".
The peace and wholeness this affords your mind and body highlight that only the belief of the mind that defines the self as a separate, mortal, objective self triggers anxiety in the mind and body.
This belief binds you in fear, introspecting and doubting yourself, and comparing yourself unfavourably to others.
As you discard this belief, which has no evidential basis whatsoever and is therefore wholly blind and without reason, the limiting thoughts it gives rise to that personalise you, making the mind and body feel inadequate and fearful, will collapse in an instant, leaving the mind in its natural freedom.
What will you do with your freedom? Notice thoughts arise that are full of light and possibility.
All that has happened here is you have rested in your true nature, which is like the self-illuminating Sun that never stops shining. The dark, limiting cloud of believing you are a separate something has gone, and your natural aliveness can shine unhindered.
You don't have to believe you are everything. How could you prove that? You just need to dispel the belief you are a limited something and rest effortlessly in the undefinable openness of your true nature.
The rest happens all by itself.
Whether the dark cloud of separateness is covering your natural sunshine or not, you are still the Sun.
Realising this will relieve any tension caused by thinking you are not just because the clouds are covering you at the moment.
There are always the odd clouds. It's part of life.
You don't have to do anything apart from recognising that the presence of awareness is you and seeing through the belief that says you are limited, which is a natural consequence.
Then just shine as you will.
Your illumination will ward off the clouds and even shine through them when they return, and you will still be secure in the knowledge that they will naturally pass if they are particularly thick. Nature will take its course.
Love,
Freyja
