How Would You Like To Live?

If we experience psychological fear, it is on behalf of a psychological entity—a person.

If we are a person, our consciousness must be a product of our brain.

Would you be able to trust anything other than your experience to let you know if this is true?

Would you trust a scientist over your own experience or a psychologist over your own experience, or any belief over your own experience?

If, having examined your experience of awareness, you cannot know whether it is true or not that your brain generates it, then would you persist in believing thoughts that personified your existence as if it were?

The effect of such thoughts is to trigger fear and lack and to separate you existentially from the world and universe, objectifying yourself and everything.

Would you like to continue living in this way, based on a belief that, in your experience, you cannot know is accurate and, therefore, could be a blind and false belief?

Based on this belief, which you cannot know to be true, would you like to continue believing thoughts such as "I am inadequate in some ways" or "the environment is trying to destroy me in some ways?" as if they were true?

Is living this way actually satisfying your fundamental desire for safety, wholeness and feeling free of fear?

Or

Is there a desire to experiment with the other equal possibility that awareness is not personal at all but an impersonal reality, and, as it is actually experienced, without bounds or limits and the source of what the mind perceives and conceptualises as objects?

There is no separate environment, as everything is the reality you are.

And if you entertain this possibility, there is no separate "you" to be frightened of; there is no fear on behalf of "you".

And if there is no fear, you are free to act, based on the qualities that naturally emerge that can only be described as indestructible love, to the best of the ability of a fallible human body and mind can do, in a way that honours and respects life as if everything were this reality flowing along.

And, as you experiment with living in this way, you find that it is a perfectly viable way to live and one that fills your heart with joy instead of fear.

And, you can do all this by simply recognising that you cannot know and have no convincing evidence based on your direct experience that your ordinary awareness is a product of your brain.

Thus, you can enjoy your awareness as if it is the source reality of everything, as, after all, you do not know if that is not true.

Then, you can truly recognise that your mind cannot know what you are.

Then you are free to live in the not knowing and see if it works out better.

Then, each time a thought emerges that frightens you by implying in some way that you are a separate person, it can be met with this understanding: It does not know this is true.

Then, you can watch this fearful thought disappear in a puff of smoke.
